Re: Searching for better cameras

- ELP modules: Somewhat expensive, various models available. Rather good image quality, but horrible barrel distortion. Unusable unless the software has correction for this and there are a means to calibrate for that. OpenPnP users often use this, but I'm not that happy about the idea. One quick no...

Re: Openpnp

EDIT: Think I found the problem. Liteplacer vacuum sensor reports a lower value when the part is on the nozzle. Openpnp expects a higher value? Please see the follow up at https://groups.google.com/d/msgid/openpnp/e6deb790-a8e0-4855-8d2c-bcad49ddd207%40googlegroups.com?utm_medium=email&utm_sour...

Re: Openpnp

Hi, I'm running my Liteplacer with OpenPNP and it works great. Only thing I miss is vacuum sense that I had on the modified Liteplacer software and tinyG firmware. Anyone knows what I need to do to get the vacuum sensor to work with OpenPNP? Martin https://github.com/openpnp/openpnp/wiki/Setup-and-...

Re: Is up camera really needed?

One more thought: If you send me some of your troublesome images I'd be happy to make any suggestions that I can think of.

Re: Is up camera really needed?

Does that make sense? And does your code do that? Jason Yes, but as I wrote I will need to recalibrate the focal point and the pixel/mm ratio more carefully. As you are using Juki nozzles with the green ring and filter that green via HSV you probably get a nice black background. Using the semi mat ...

Re: Is up camera really needed?

Thank you Jason for your anwers. I think our discussion could be of interest to all, so I answer her in puplic. One problem might be that we measure at different distances. The parts pin bottoms are approx. 1.8mm from the nozzle tip. Now take a mm ruler, display a 1mm grid on the camera vision and ...

Re: Is up camera really needed?

mawa, The biggest argument for bottom vision is that often after you pick a part it is in a different position on the nozzle than nominal due to nozzle "dance". This is when the part dances around a bit on the nozzle as it is picked up and before the vacuum is fully formed. If you are gett...

Re: Openpnp

Hey Jason, thanks for posting this update. I have actually been using the GCodeDriver for a while now and am rather pleased with it. It was very easy to add the commands for vacuum etc. to the configuration. Once I find the time, I will post my machine.xml here - but I guess I need to add some comm...
