Re: No results from "Components by Pads"

Ooooh, "Filter Features by Size" is a separate function. Got it - it works! Screenshot 2024-07-30 174748.png Screenshot shows both the "by Outline" results (red and green boxes around features) and the "by Pads" result (the larger green rectangle). Thanks again. By the ...

Direction of "Part Rotation" field in Tape Setup

The documentation says: If rotation parameter is 90 degrees, this part is placed on the PCB rotated 90 degrees counterclockwise (positive direction). I have tape in the +Y direction, and the part needs to be rotated 90 degrees counterclockwise to end up in the correct orientation ready for placement...

No results from "Components by Pads"

I'm trying to use the "Components by Pads" feature as described in Up Camera Assisted Placement and can't get a result. For example, here's the up camera view of an 0603: Screenshot 2024-07-17 161221.png With a simple thresholding and size filter the "Components by Outline" featu...

Re: X-axis offset

I'm sorry I can't help the OP, but this is superb advice Juku. I've finally been able to tease out a precious few tenths of a millimetre out of my machine. What I realised after a read and a re-read: The "Don't use nozzle correction" checkbox is global - it doesn't just affect job runs, bu...

Re: Centering of Components

use component height as a parameter for up camera assisted measurement Great idea! The up camera focus is difficult to adjust, so it would be easiest to do it once accurately for the nozzle tip purpose, which can be done with the vacuum off. At the moment that makes its suboptimal for even the shor...

Trouble detecting circles with 4K camera

I had a really successful build and went through calibration smoothly. But I hit a brick wall when it came to detecting circles with the down facing camera. My experience is probably best conveyed by this third party scene: https://youtu.be/uUfGu2sId9w?t=288 Essentially there is so much detail in th...

Re: Right side X limit switch

FWIW, here's mine. IMG_6117.jpg IMG_6116.jpg As you can see, it's close, but I've managed about 5mm margin at the point the limit switch is triggered. I had more trouble with the fact that the bolt the switch lever contacts did not have a flat face and the lever would catch on it. So I added a slot ...

Re: Using 3d printed part holders

Oh yeah. I did mean to apply ironing but forgot, and then found it was smooth enough. But I didn't think of the uneven reflection! That will certainly help with vision. Here's the latest iteration. Coming together nicely. I have a table guide in silver that has notches to snugly accept the part hold...

Re: Using 3d printed part holders

So far so good. I started with your Fusion360 file and experimented with a few different tapes. My sample set of tapes is small, but I was able to reduce the number of dimensions that have to change between tapes down to the tape width, the tape thickness and the depth of the tape embossing. I then ...

Setting tube spring tension

After following the build instructions, I ended up with the two springs on the pick-up tube just barely touching the bearing between them. In operation, this means the tube rests with about 1.5mm of compression on the top spring and a corresponding gap to the bottom spring. This works fine, but it f...
