Re: v-wheel "tire residue"?

I had the same problem ever since I built mine. It turns out it was caused by a slight misalignment, the fix in the Backlash and Slack Compensation thread fixed the problem. No more residue.

Re: 0402 on bottom not looking at right tape hole

Yes the "next" is 1. OK I think I have it. The csv file has 23 of these 0402 parts on the bottom and 2 on the top. I wanted to just try the accuracy of a few parts before putting paste on the board, so I checked the placed box for most of the instances and left 3 unchecked. So it looks lik...

0402 on bottom not looking at right tape hole

Here is a weird one: I've been trying to place parts on the bottom layer (see the EAGLE ULP thread), and by hand editing the csv file and using the Bottom check, and setting an X offset of the board width I was able to place parts on the bottom, EXCEPT for 0402 parts. When it goes to find the tape h...

Re: EAGLE ULP to generate LitePlacer input file

I just tried to do my first board with parts on the bottom and strange things happened. I'm using the ULP that comes with the latest version of Autodesk Eagle (9.1). Anyway in the bottom CSV file the Y coordinates are all negative. The X coordinates are all positive. If I have the "Bottom"...

New camera setup documentation

Hi Juha, Today I have been going through the process of aligning the new cameras to the placer and ran into some slight issues with the documentation. I just upgraded to the latest software. First off: the camera setup page has a "desired resolution" section which is set to 640x480 by defa...

Re: Homing not backing off

Hi Juha, thanks for looking into this, I got it fixed! It now homes properly. It turns out I had TWO wiring errors which were making it tough to track down. 1) The wires from the jacks on the control box to the TinyG had min and max transposed for all the axis. 2) The labels on the control box end o...

Re: Homing not backing off

I tried the board reset, no difference. I dumped the tinyG, compared it with the settings in your file and xzb, xlb and xlv were the same. I tried changing xlb to 20.0 and it made no difference. I tried swapping the xmin and xmax switches, that didn't make any difference, no matter which is which it...

Homing not backing off

I'm in the setup phase and can jog the axis just fine, all fine work great, but when I try and do a home x operation it moves left until the limit switch clicks, it stops, but doesn't back off, the limit switch stays on. If I try and jog to the right I get an error popup: Attempt to Move outside saf...

Homedot location

I want to build a single piece laser cut "square" for the PCB locator rather than the traditional two separate pieces. If I do this where do I put the "home dot"? All the pictures show the dot directly below the vertical piece and directly to the left of the horizontal piece. Can...

Re: LED Ring diffuser with very glossy PCBs

I have an Andonstar camera and don't use any light on the LitePlacer at all for the down facing camera. My lab has a white ceiling and multiple fluorescent fixtures which give a decent brightness very uniform light on the table. The camera is plenty sensitive to see the any of the features on the bo...
