Wood-Placer

Hello Forum, because I have not that much space which is necessary for the original LitePlacer I have build a smaller version from laser cut wood. I call it the Wood-Placer. Main purpose is to populate a little PCB for my robot project Wood-Walker.com which has about 120 parts on the PCB - you can s...

Wooden parts tray

I just finished a wooden parts tray made from 3 mm MDF and 0.8 mm Tough Wood. It is a little challange to glue it together but it is fast and cheap to make compared with 3D printing or milling from feedstock. http://radow.org/picture/radow-8mm-parts.jpg The little notches in the ruler parts every 10...

Re: Better Downward Camea

I am also playing with two c270 in the moment. I like it that it is so flat. Maybe I even can avoid the hole in the table. Additional you can position the needle and the down looking cam as close as possible together to get more usable table space.

Re: is ordering laser-cut steel as easy as ordering PCBs?

Hello WayOut West, in Germany it is mostly not a problem of quantities - more that such companies don't like to deal with private customers because of the high labor costs for communicating and bill writing ;-) - That might be different in the US? At work we get all week individual one piece orders ...

Re: DIY TinyG controller

I went further with my tests. The NEMA 23 Stepper motors with it's driver black boxes arrived. The Step, Dir and Enable opto couplers are designed for 5 Volt but have no problem to be driven by the TinyG 3.3 Volt. This would open the opportunity to all owners of a mill and such stepper drivers to co...

Saving I/o pins at the TinyG controller for further updates

To make wiring easier and to save some I/o pins at the TinyG controller I would suggest to chain all end stop switches in one big serial loop . For my opinion there is no need for the software to know which switch has opened - it just has to stop. The operator will easily find out which was the one....

Re: DIY TinyG controller

I would not like to change the TinyG software to realize such a bus system because I would like to use all TinyG software improvements in the future without any trouble. On other hand it would be stupid to collect all the data at the output of the TinyG controller for sending it though your chained ...

DIY TinyG controller

Because shipping and tax makes the TinyG controller expensive in Germany (around USD 200) I started to build my own. I used this design as basis for my board. http://dangerousprototypes.com/2013/04/08/tinyg-controller-for-cnc/ Because I wanted to use my own stepper driver I erased all needless compo...
