Two sides boards?

Post by SamBamboo »

Is it possible to populate a two sides pcb? You would almost have to glue the parts on one side, then populate the other side.

Yes, you can do that. Please see http://www.liteplacer.com/double-sided-boards/.

Depending on how you have done the design, you might get away without using glue. The surface tension of molten solder is high and will keep the bottom side components from falling off during top side reflow. All “normal” passive components will tolerate two reflow cycles. So, if you don't have ICs or heavy parts on bottom side, you'll be fine.
