3d printed downward facing camera mount for Andonstar V160

Post by yaddatrance »

While waiting for my unit to ship, I'm collecting parts to finish my build.

I had a andonstar V160 usb microscope from a previous pick and place retrofit (an old PM460) and I saw that the apertus wiki recommended a Misumi SHAT1220 mount.
On my old pick and place, it used a similar mount and I felt it was too thin for the length of the camera so I made a SHAT1220 "compatible" design with more support.

Please give it a try and let me know if it needs any changes. I'll give an update when my actual unit shows up :)

Thanks!

Hey, thanks for sharing the file.

More interesting to me: It seems you have replaced the USB cable on the Andonstar?

How did you get this thing disassembled?

I would like to relace my cable and also try to fix the camera board better inside the tube - if possible.

Thanks!

Those Andonstar microscopes are apparently assembled with different USB cables, depending on what was available at the Shenzhen market.

The microscope is tore apart here:

I routed the USB signal through a rather thin 110 Ohm AES/EBU digital audio cable (Tasker TAS-TSK800). USB signal pair is 90 Ohm.

I use a 10x15 "non-flying" dragchain but with a 10 cm radius... Works a treat.

Yes, thats the stock cable on my unit. They originally had the silver braided but it looks like the newer ones use black.

I updated the model on thingiverse. When I assembled the liteplacer, one of the v-groove pulleys interfered with the extended housing so I had to shorten it a bit.

Another item that may be of interest is a ring light adapter I made which fits the 40mm ring light Juha includes with the kit to the Andonstar microscope.
