Re: Software release, 13/01/2016
I think it is absolutely great that people are devoting their time and skills to make LitePlacer better. There is also nothing wrong with adjusting the software for your personal needs. I only wished there was more convergence in the end! If somebody implents a nice feature or architecture change, ...

Re: Another slew of updates to the RMOD software
Can you please tel me how to set first hole and last hole in tapes ? All you need to do is to navigate with the camera to the first hole on the tape and choose set first, then navigate to the last hole and set that and it should be done. Also could not use loose place and place with up cam. I haven...

Re: Another slew of updates to the RMOD software
Karl, Fiducials are identified correctly. I went also on top of the 1st hole of one tape and added that tape. However when I try to place some resistors I got the error"Tape is not yet calibrated (see pic.). I'm also trying to place the SO8 and get error "Placement operation failed.Revirw...

Re: Another slew of updates to the RMOD software
Sergiu I just committed a new version, the error you're getting should be fixed in it - let me know if it still doesn't work, and if so, as many details as you can give me is always good. I've done two boards with the machine in the last two days, the new error reporting of feeders (based on the vac...

Re: Another slew of updates to the RMOD software
I'm sure you've already done this, but for anybody else reading, you definitely need a "pneumatic capacitor" in the vac line in order to get usable readings from the ADC. Malte explained how here . So i'm not entirely sure on how this works. I understand that the capacitor would build up ...

Re: Another slew of updates to the RMOD software
Hi Sergiu I compile your source code same way as I'm doing with source from https://github.com/jkuusama/LitePlacer-ver2.git/ However Immediately after left window opens, program crashes. That's strange. How do you compile it? I haven't honestly try to run the program as a binary yet, only as a debug...

Another slew of updates to the RMOD software
I've been trying to get the RMOD up to par for production and i believe i might finally be there. Most of the issues reported in juhas repo are fixed at this point, including the tape orientation error. This has not been thoroughly tested yet as i don't use it myself, the set last / set first is so ...

Re: Again, another feeder design
If there is interest it might be smart to outsource a few parts. Case can be 3d printed, the "flat" metal parts can be laser / water jet cutted. The gear needs to be machined? Of course there should be some kick back to the designer. This is probably still in beta so there is some accepta...

Re: Again, another feeder design
Hey guys, sorry it took me a while to get this together - and even so i never managed to make perfect files. You can find downloads and a writeup here http://www.knasmusic.com/diyeverything/pickandplace/tapefeeders.php , gerber and STL files for the 8mm paper feeder can be downloaded at the bottom. ...

Re: Again, another feeder design
For me, DXF is fine but almost any vector format would do. Could you include a very short list of what material and thickness you have cut each part from? I would take on the task of turning the 2D files into a 3D model in Cubify / Alibre / Geomagic then - and export STEP for other CAD. Cool! I'm m...
