Re: Really, not painful
Out of curiosity, Is it possible to "personalize" the LitePlacer code? Quick question, what language is it written in and what development system is needed? It would seem that the creator is open to contributions, so how would one go about contributing?

Re: Nozzle Calibration
For now, I have given up on nozzle calibration. I cannot get it to work, it actually makes placement worse.....

Nozzle Calibration
I am still confused about nozzle calibration, either I am messing up or there is a bug. The pictures below will show what I have found... Strangely, parts placed that do not need rotation, place about the same with or without nozzle calibration. But if the part needs rotation to be placed, the uncal...

Re: Mysterious nozzle to camera offset error
I have worked on this issue for a long time as well. I have not been nearly as scientific as you, well done. What has worked best for me was to just change the X,Y tape offsets and nominal locations on the CSV file, to "lie" about where they are supposed to be picked up and placed. The fir...

Re: Software release, 07/09/2018
I am getting a "Sloppy programmer error", "Nozzle Calibration value read: value not found". I saw this as well when the rotation of the part on the tape table was set to -1.0 Other values that I tried did not have this problem. I was able to jog but when I pressed Enter, the noz...

Re: Software release, 07/09/2018
Manually assisted placement: Machine takes the part almost to position, user can jog it on place (Thank you for contribution!) Likely a silly question: Place Assist is a very cool feature! I am not sure how to use it. Once I help get the part get placed by jogging it just a bit, and lowering the noz...

Up Camera Calibration
Recently I found my up camera calibration was off and causing placement problems on parts that were rotated. While re-calibrating this camera using the "ruler and camera-box" method as described in the instructions, I got to wondering if there was a more accurate way. I am curious if my ne...

Re: SMD Parts Tray Shoot Out: Who's the Winner?
IMG_1530.JPG Robert, your solution looks very clean and is probably very effective, too :-D Could you post a picture which shows the reel holders as well? To me that is an interesting aspect; always concerned with the workflow to "refill" the holders... Sure, but I did not do anything spe...

Re: SMD Parts Tray Shoot Out: Who's the Winner?
I received a request for more detail about my parts trays. So here goes... (File this under "If you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail"): I am lucky enough to have a Carvey, which is a small CNC milling machine. I used that to create the parts trays. 0805 parts : The material I us...

Re: SMD Parts Tray Shoot Out: Who's the Winner?
IMG_1527.JPG Attached is an image of my latest parts trays, holding 40 different parts, not much space left over! Paper tapes include caps and resistors: 16 different values: Four clear plastic tapes, these I fixed by making a very special tray system that includes registration holes so I do not ha...
