What is your work surface made of? ESD mat, metal, etc?n6xb wrote:I have had the best luck using Scotch Double Sided Permanent Tape. It comes on a yellow spool. It holds the tapes down well and also makes it easy to remove tapes for replacing.

Re: ring LED recommendation
Interesting. I ordered the lights Adam mentioned above ($8 for 2 on Amazon) but will have to keep the LED strip in mind too.

Re: ring LED recommendation
How did you mount those lights, can you share some photos? From my measurements I can fit about a 50mm diameter ring light before hitting the A axis motor, unless I reduce the max Z height (which wouldn't be the worst thing I guess).

Re: "Test A" keeps the motor spinning and times out
A axis mode was the culprit, for reference it was set to mode 3 [radius]. The command $aam=1 fixed it. Thanks.
Code: Select all
[aam] a axis mode 3 [radius]

"Test A" keeps the motor spinning and times out
X, Y, and Z homing, jogging, and testing all work fine. When I hit "Test A", it starts spinning but doesn't stop and after a while the software loses communication and I have to reset the tinyg and reconnect to it. The motion is smooth, and can be sped up or slowed down using the speed set...

I also had that problem when the acceleration and speed were too high for an axis.

Re: Compute stick
Not according to Juha, see http://liteplacer.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=79&p=425. He mentions nothing about powerful graphics hardware. I'm not too worried about a few seconds extra per part if it just takes longer to process the camera images, if I wanted a high end pick and place machi...

Re: Power supply options
I wonder if anyone has actually measured current consumption? I plan on wiring mine such that I can put an inline meter between the 24V supply and the tinyg.

Re: price difference
I suspect the profit just wasn't enough to be worth his time, even 1699 is a bargain compared to any other P&P machine with vision.
