Re: Again, another feeder design
Okay guys i feel that i've verified that this design works really quite well, i have 25 feeders placing about 150 resistors per board in total and i've done 5 boards so far. Misalignment and missed component errors that are due to actual feeder issues seems to be minimal, so i feel it's ready. I'm s...

Re: Again, another feeder design
Karl, Once you publish those, I will try to 3D print some of the parts - should be possible at least for the case; maybe not the plates but the middle part. As discussed before, the mechanis probably need to be CNC milled for stiffness and durability. Have you made these from aluminium or steel? Al...

Re: Again, another feeder design
Do you think I can make them mostly in aluminum on cnc milling machine? Or dose it rely on some flexible plastic parts that need 3D printing. I dont have a 3d printer :( If you want to sell me 20 or so tell me the price. I will spend a small fortune on commercial feeders in the new year otherwise. ...

Re: Again, another feeder design

So far i have designs for 8/12/16mm tape, paper or plastic, 1 or 2 hole spacing and working on 3 hole spacing rn. There are a lot of ...

Re: A whole slew of updates to the RMOD software
Well is a second upcam really necessary? How often do you calibrate camera-to-nozzle ? Why not exchange the clean glas with the dot glas for camera-to-nozzle calibration and then replace a clean glas. I think it depends, the camera-to-nozzle measurement is an approximation of median needle wobble a...

Regarding Juki nozzles and holder
I just found this and thought i'd share as a lot of people seem to be interested in how i used the Juki nozzles with my Liteplacer; http://www.robotdigg.com/product/517/Nozzle+w/+Adapter+to+5mm+Hollow+Shaft+Stepper One of these mounted on a hollow shaft nema 8 (also on robotdigg) could make a truly ...

Re: A whole slew of updates to the RMOD software
For some reason i stopped getting notifications about updates in these forums so i was under the impression nobody was talking, anyway i guess ill start looking at this manually to see what's going on. I'll look into the bugs reported at github and see what i can do, for now i'm currently trying to ...

Re: Again, another feeder design
I had an idea how you could replace the steel wool contact with something cleaner and more reliable: Instead of special slip ring contacts, just use a steel ball bearing - not as "ghetto style" but still cheap and effective ;) I just rembered reading about that somewhere a while ago and f...

Re: Again, another feeder design
How does your switch work? Do you check for electrical conductance from needle to the pin shown in your photos? Or is there a microswitch mounted behind the white plastic (hidden in the picture)? So just fyi everything i do is made in the most ghetto but still reliable way i can think of, more ofte...
