For the record, this was absolutely 100% my fault. In fact, my TinyG has survived several other reckless mis-wiring "events" that should have killed it, so it's something of a miracle it lasted this long. For all my criticism of TinyG's architectural decisions I have to say that the hardware itself is impressively idiot-resistant. But my idiocy finally overcame that.
I'd also like to thank the fulfillment team at Synthetos for rushing a replacement to me so quickly.
