[FIXED] "burping" noise from Y-axis motor
Hi, I can't really come up with a good way to describe this other than the Y-axis belt making a "burping" noise and then the machine loses track of its position on the Y-axis. The video below does a better job of explaining. How do I fix this? The machine gets "lost" after two or three motions and is unusable...

Re: "burping" noise from Y-axis motor, loses track of positi
Tow possible causes:
1. too low motor current
2. too tight Y belts
1. too low motor current
2. too tight Y belts
best regards

Hrm, the forum isn't letting me upload the video... I've emailed it to Juha, hopefully he can post it.

Thanks mawa, this was the problem!mawa wrote: 2. too tight Y belts
There was too much mismatch in the tightness of the two Y-belts. The left one was very tight and the right one was very loose.

The forum restrictions for this and other similar stuff are off. I don't know why attaching a video does not work. Maybe it is a BlueHost thing?WayOutWest wrote:Hrm, the forum isn't letting me upload the video... I've emailed it to Juha, hopefully he can post it.
Anyway, I'm glad you got helped before I even saw your message.

It is the same file size restriction that thereza ran into here.JuKu wrote:The forum restrictions for this and other similar stuff are off. I don't know why attaching a video does not work. I also had that problem when the acceleration and speed were too high for an axis.
