Camera Crash

I just built my machine and the software keeps crashing at random points when the camera is being activated or changed. It never crashes while simply watching the video inside the software though. Both cameras work fine when they successfully activate. I have tried two computers with different versions of the software. One is windows 8.1 and one is windows 10, both 64 bit. The drivers are standard windows defaults. The crash produces no error message, the software just freezes. One computer had the cameras on a usb hub, the other they are on separate ports. This happens within a few minutes of using the software, so it is useless at this point and most of the time I cannot get past the optical homing function.
Any ideas? bad camera maybe? 64 bit issue?

I had a lot of issues like this for a while, i ended up replacing the cameras with $5 webcams and haven't had a single problem since. It seems the big USB connectors on those cameras aren't very good, i was using a laptop that moved around a lot so the cameras kept disconnecting and eventually one of the connectors just popped open.

Thanks for all the ideas,
Yes i noticed that the usb ends are very shifty and glued them, I am using the newest liteplacer software with the robust option checked. The "force" new video driver does not seem to be available in windows 10 and I cannot find a driver that says it is newer than 2006.
My next plan is new cameras, there are about 100 different endoscopes on ebay and amazon but they all appear to use the same cmos camera inside. Does anyone have some recommended different cameras?
