Good double-sided tape brand?

Post by RMM »

I've been struggling a bit to keep my plastic component tapes firmly in place on the table. The paper tapes stick great to my tape, but the plastic tapes lose their grip after a few hours. This is the tape I've been using:

What methods have you all been using for component placement on the table? I am working on getting some 3D printed holders, but tape seems to be the cheapest and easiest option in the short-term.

I've always had good experienced with Sellotape 12mm double sided tape, but I think you can only get that in Australia and the UK. I've used that for holding composites down whilst milling them and had no issues. Anything 3M make and is marked as "permanent" is a good choice (SCOTCH is their brand). The tapes with Acrylic adhesives tend to be the strongest in my experience. When it comes to 3M, its actually worth paying more for the name brand IMO.. in many other cases I couldn't disagree more.
