I just found this and thought i'd share as a lot of people seem to be interested in how i used the Juki nozzles with my Liteplacer;

One of these mounted on a hollow shaft nema 8 (also on robotdigg) could make a truly excellent pick and place head, possibly with no wobble.

That product confuses me a bit. They say you need to use a vise to press-fit the bronze-colored part onto your motor, so I assume that connection is basically permanent. Can you remove the Juki nozzle from the other end? If so, why don't they sell just the coupler without the nozzle? Either way your auto-swapping head is much cooler. Speaking of which... any chance you are willing to share the STL files for the holder?

I did find this coupler on Robotdigg: a rotating M5 to quick-fit pneumatic: http://www.robotdigg.com/product/606
It's M5 outer-threaded and should mate to the wiring end of their hollow-shaft NEMA11 (which is M5 inner-threaded) out-of-the-box:
I've ordered one of each and will post when I find out if it's for real.

the coupler looks like a cheap version of Misumi part RTCN6-M5:

I use that one on my machine and it is great:


Rotates easily, no air leakage and the quick connector for 6mm hose makes building and maintenance of air system very easy.

Cosidering shipping cost from China, Misumi part (or similar distributor) might still be the cheaper option for many of us.

it looks to me as if the coupler needs to be press-fitted onto the motor shaft - which probably makes a tight fit with virtually no wobble if part is well machined.

Howevr, the nozzles seem to be attached and fixed by set-screws. So no auto change as in your setup and - depending on number of screws and their location - added wobble.

I must say, I like the coupler you are using MUCH better.

Well I was already getting the hollow-shaft stepper from robotdigg, so the shipping on the coupler was effectively free (though slow!)

If it turns out to be low quality I'll get the Misumi one.
