Is it normal to lubricate the 2 pickup tube o-rings? I.E. PTFE grease or machine oil?

I use a very tiny drop of silicone spray; but it should not lubricate too much otherwise the nozzle might slip during rotation.

The O-rings can easily be replaced if necessary.

I use Krytox. Expensive stuff (if I didn't have tubes of it all over at work) but a little goes a long way and it basically never needs to be reapplied.

There are no forces opposing rotation; I don't think that is too much of a concern.
