Direction of "Part Rotation" field in Tape Setup

The documentation says:
Now I've gone back and brought up the orientation arrow (click "Show Part" and then don't move the cursor - wish I'd realised that earlier!) and sure enough it's pointing in the wrong direction. It's as if the 90 degrees is the rotation of the component in the tape, so the correction is -90 degrees.
Have I got this backwards? If the part needs to be rotated 90 degree counterclockwise, from a +Y tape, before putting on the PCB at 0 degrees, is the setting 90 or 270?
I have tape in the +Y direction, and the part needs to be rotated 90 degrees counterclockwise to end up in the correct orientation ready for placement on the PCB. So I set rotation to 90 degrees, but the part got placed 180° out!If rotation parameter is 90 degrees, this part is placed on the PCB rotated 90 degrees counterclockwise (positive direction).
