Re: Openpnp
UPDATE : We did get the homing fiducial to work. It turns out that it can ONLY be a white (light) dot inside of a black (dark) area. I assume all fiducials are like that until the (potential) new update comes out with a fiducial pipeline. Correct, see: https://wiki.apertus.org/index.php/Liteplacer_...

Re: Openpnp
We have been working on OpenPnP with the LitePlacer. Once set up, it has a lot of promise! One thing that seems to be very problematic is that TinyG accepts commands and issues an "ok>' response immediately and then runs the command. OpenPnP expects that commands are complete before getting a r...

Re: Openpnp
I created a machine.xml that makes OpenPnP work with my liteplacer out of the box (no need to run liteplacer software first to program tinyg or send custom gcode to the tinyg): https://wiki.apertus.org/images/d/de/Machine.zip It configures tinyg at connection/startup and also activates pump and val...

Re: Placing A Tray Of Parts
We received some more parts in trays today. The TSOP-40 flash chip that we had previously received in a tape/reel came in a tray this time. We noticed that they tray is much "tighter" than the tape. By that, I mean that there is a lot less slop for the chip to be out of alignment inside of...

Placing A Tray Of Parts
I guess I don't know if this is a software question, hardware question, or a feature request. We get some of our parts in trays. We currently place them in the loose part area, but they are not actually loose. How can we make use of the trays, because, in theory, they should be just like a tape of c...

Re: Placing ICs (Video)
If it can do 0402 it can certainly do something with pitch that size. TSOP and 0402 is a big difference: Yes, the other big difference is that an 0402 part has 2 solder points that are on opposite sides. If the piece is not rotated properly, it will still function. In fact, the soldering process ma...

Re: Placing ICs (Video)
We have tried the suction cup on the tip. It is definitely better. It also helps in the up camera's view of the needle tip, as we just slide the suction cup up when placing the 0603 and 0402 discreet components. I guess that's a nice little bonus. I don't know that this is a great final solution, bu...

Re: Placing ICs (Video)
We bought Juki nozzle clones, they are pretty popular in the open source community - i think mostly because of easy availability. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/SMT-JUKI2050-nozzle-JUKI-nozzle-500-501-502-503-504-505-506-507-508-free-shipping/32280501719.html?ws_ab_test=searchweb201556_0,searchweb2...

Re: Placing ICs (Video)
They are definitely not all over rotating. You can see that in the video some of them are under rotated. It is also true that the flash chips come in tape that is somewhat loose. I can see some variance in their positioning inside of the tape before the nozzle grabs them. I think this could potentia...

Re: Placing ICs (Video)
Thanks for all the good info, Mark. I will look into those tips.
Is this true? Does everybody have the same opinion?Pixopax wrote:Oh wow, you are really brave placing those big things with the liteplacer
The precision is just not good enough for that.
