Issue with software installation

Post by mlkress »

I have installed the software on a computer I have dedicated for the machine. It is a fairly reasonable computer from a performance standpoint (i7, 8GB Ram, 120GB SSD). However when I try to launch the LitePlacer program the UI appears to load very slow then it appears to hang and never recover. When it is in the locked up state the cursor is just spinning continually.

I have Windows 7 Embedded installed on the machine but the embedded image has all the Windows 7 components included, so it is basically like Win7Pro.

I have also verified that I can talk to the TinyG from a separate terminal session and I see the USB cameras under device manager as generic imaging devices. So I believe all the other hardware is in a functioning state.

Does anyone know what maybe keeping the program from loading properly?

.NET framework version? The software is written with 4.0 which is not supported (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/windows-embedde ... ducts.aspx), but a newer version should work.

I got to the bottom of my issue. I had to disable the COM ports I'm not using on my motherboard then the software loaded fine. I'm using COM1 for a touchscreen, and COM7 for the TinyG controller.
