IPC-7351 alignment fiducials

Is it possible to have the LitePlacer populate a board that doesn't have IPC-7351 alignment fiducials? For example, could screw holes be used instead?

I often use vias - just have to add their location to the PnP file. Works great.

Mounting holes work too, but you need to make sure the shadows don't mess with the camera algorithms.
