I also posted this on eevblog. But It might also be useful for people here:
While browsing taoboa for random things I found this:

Supports yamaha CL feeders, only has (shitty?) bottom cam but has HIWIN guides and "real" samsung or whatever pick and place heads. It looks like a solid base to port to OpenPNP or liteplacer software.
It's about 1600 euro which is close to a liteplacer kit. They also offer a "DIY" version of this but I'm not exactly sure what that entails (see bottom of post). Is it assemble yourself or is it even more limited as in not complete components.
I have a liteplacer; software is "good enough" hardware is ok except the pnp head could be better. And it really misses feeders.
This "platform" seems to fill that gap. Just make it use decent software and stick a camera on the head and you should be done.
I bought a Yamaha CL 8mm feeder to see what it is all about and I must say that it is an excellent piece equipment that is really well made and works without issue (even manually). And for 26 euro you can't complain.

This seems to be the software?

Diy kit:
The price of 6800 excluding electrical control, solenoid valves, visual camera and other accessories. Full set of accessories 9800 yuan (excluding visual).
I might get one around FEB and look how well it performs stock and if needed port it to openpnp or liteplacer or any other suitable pnp software. It uses steppers so that should not be that hard.
Just thought I trow it out here; others might find it interesting;
Edit:
To improve accuracy one could add closed loop steppers to it. I have this on my cnc and they are excellent.
Can support 4000 ppr encoder. A set is like 100 euro for a driver and a motor (2Nm)
Also seems fairly easy to add ballscrews to this and another two PNP heads if one is interested in that.
Taoboa pnp platform find
Re: Taoboa pnp platform find
This one has sold a reasonable amount:

16.8K RMB for the full thing
place for 30 feeders , ballscrews , linear guides and closed loop steppers

While the liteplacer (and software) is a ok piece of kit it really misses feeders.
The first machine being close to the price of a liteplacer (11.8K RMB) I think it would be a good base to retrofit.
[Just an idea]
You could base your business around ready to get platforms like this (or get them customized) and just base your revenue on selling the controller / the software.
While the liteplacer is nice enough for hobby use the lack of feeders is a big no no for semi-pro use / quick turnaround.
With this you could concentrate on the software / controller and not sourcing all those little parts from china and all the hassle
the coincides with that. I think you can make a valid business case with this. Even if you choose to abandon liteplacer SW and continue with openpnp support for example.
Just my 2 cents

Please tell me more! If I can find a reliable source for a feeder at 26€, I'll run to add those to LitePlacer!I bought a Yamaha CL 8mm feeder to see what it is all about and I must say that it is an excellent piece equipment that is really well made and works without issue (even manually).
